Newspaper Nail Tutorial by JDAGonzalez Newspaper Nail Tutorial by JDAGonzalez
Newspaper Nails!

You will need:

White nail polish
Rubbing alcohol
Strips of newspaper
Clear topcoat

1. Paint nails with a light colour. White is ideal, but anything light will do!
2. Soak nails in rubbing alcohol, making sure the whole nail is wet.
3. Press and hold newpaper strip onto nail. Don't hold for too long, or the newspaper will get stuck! About fifteen seconds should do it.
4. Wait a minute or two, and then go over with topcoat. If you do it too soon, the words will come off! But if you skip this step, they will smudge everywhere! I like to do a couple of coats, but it is entirely up to you!

And, ta~da! Newspaper nails!

Would Hydrogen Peroxide work, instead of rubbing alcohol?

I have seen it done before, but very faint, as it dissolves the newsprint. It is much better to use rubbing alcohol. :)

That's unfortunate! I could definitely give you a few tips. Here's five:

1. Make sure the white is not opaque. You definitely want a good and solid white for a base.
2. Have the newspaper strips ready before you soak your nails in rubbing alcohol. You want to make sure your nails are very wet and haven't dried in the slightest when you put the newspaper on.
3. Do not hold the newspaper for too long. Think of when you are applying a temporary tattoo. If you don't hold it long enough, the ink will not transfer. If you hold for too long, the newspaper will dry and get stuck to your nail. I think anywhere between 10-15 seconds should work. Really, after you do a couple, you should get the hang of how long you should hold.
4. Don't press too hard on the newspaper! Be very gentle, but not too gentle.
5. Put the top coat on a few minutes after, because otherwise, the words will smudge. It is ink after all! Make sure you do use a top coat, though, or they won't last very long.

Huzzah! I hope it works for you, if you decide to try again.
